"The Critic"

Treading Sorrows...it's not a bad name, though they sound like they're going to complain alot. Haha, anywayz...I like the guitarist, he plays some good riffs. The drummer and the singer are kind of mediocre, maybe that's why the guitarist seems to dominate the song.  Overall, they don't sound like they're blending together. You're listening to the guitar, you're listening to the singer, then you're listening/feeling around for the drummer; they all sound like they're competing for your ear and the guitarist is winning. It's not giving you the washover of music, which leaves you...in that state of WOW, that was a great song. But hey...what song in this modern/pop stage of music leaves you that way anymore??? :( Maybe if you did join, Caniprokis, you could liven it up and ROCK OUT! Good luck (maybe the drummer'll die of being ignored...)

happened to things."

Bands

Not that bad, but the bassist doesn't stand out in the song. And the drummer sucks. =)

Sounds like they could play those ex-Lucy songs, too.

New Music

I have taken a liking to this band, some of you will hate this band, some will like it and some will be on the fence about it. The funny thing about this is i was asked to be in this band, and then told never mind we found someone else, but your at the top of our list if this kid dosent work out, nice but fuck man it sucks cus this is the exact kind of band id like to be in. anyways the name of the band is Treading Sorrows, kinda lame name but very Emo-core and thats what they are. emo-core scremo type of stuff anyways you can check out three tracks from them on www.mp3.com and i will put up a song for your convience.  https://insult.org/pics/Her_Hands_In_Mine.mp3   its not a far cry from what Lucy was trying to be i guess, if we had sonmeone who could you know sing. so check them out give it a listen and tell me what you all think good bad or indifferent. also tell me if you could see me in a band like this, i may get the chance, if we all pray that the other kid blows ass maybe ill get the gig :)

Scarlet's Walk

I bought the new Tori album Saturday. Now, as many of you know, I've been very disappointed with her last few outings. So disheartened by these last few albums that I didn't muster the enthusiasm to listen to this album until 1:30 AM Tuesday morning. This new disc is a concept album about Tori's less than popular views of America in the wake of 9/11. Now I don't agree with this message, but my own political views do not sway my appreciation of art. With that said, what do I think?

Fabulous! This was the Tori album i was waiting for. Gone is all that Techno Faggotry of the last two albums. Gone is the lack of a cohesive theme or "soul". These songs are all very much of this album. Oddly enough this album sounds much like the work of her earlier career, most notably Little Earthquakes and Under the Pink. This album has a much softer edge to it than anything she's done in the last 6 years. There are no songs that have the hard edge of something like Blood Roses or She's Your Cocaine. However there are a few delightfully quirky romps like "Wednesday" on this album.

Well, it was worth the wait, but finally, an album that has restored my faith in Tori. I await November 16th with baited breath.

This is strange, Nirvana is cool again. its great and yet very odd, it seems like its too late, like theres no place for this music anymore. to me its great i still love Nirvana as much as i did when i was 12 but im 22 now im so much closer to where they were when they were really making this music. i feel like maybe now i have an even better undestanding of what was going on, im not just an angsty kid anymore now im an angsty adult, whos not mad at his dad for no reason anymore, so the music takes on new meanings, maybe these new meanings are there actual intentions? either way to revisit this part of my life is great, i love the "new" album i bought it today of course its a great collection of songs though i think they played a little heavy on the tracking from unplugged for there selection of songs, i like the "new" song "you know your right" i feel like if that was the direction that the band was headed in then not only was there next album going to be great it may have changed music again who knows. all of the songs have been remastered and some of them sound different then there original release so it is a new prespective on some old stuff which is cool. Cris Novoselics Bass sounds awesome over my two twelves in the trunk and Daves Bass drum hits hard, the music is alive and it feeds the fire in your soul in a whole new way, just like it did the first time. 948

Omega Code?

Pappy, why did you watch that movie anyway?

And Caniprokis, I still can't see spending so much on a ticket, but hey, there are a lot of fans out there and I guess the bands have to make up for all of those lost CDs to the P2P services. Seriously, I can understand the extreme appreciation of music. Heh. Maybe my opinion of the ticket cost is affected by the fact that I'm not really crazy about any bands. I probably would have begged my parents back in '93 or '94 to spend whatever on a Nirvana ticket, but that was when I was 14-15 years old. I haven't really been interested in any band on that level since, really, aside from Into Another, but they were already gone by '96. I certainly would not have paid $500 to see Incubus or Wu Tang or something, let alone $10k. Especially now that Incubus sucks. Hehe.

In other news, I have found the way to make the copies of that game we all wanted after last Saturday night, so e-mail me to let me know which ones of you want it.
