No point was missed. I understood the movie perfectly, I get the whole Addams Family thing they've got going on, I just don't find it funny at all. I don't find a man, whose wife was killed in a plane crash, running mock fire drills for him and his children funny. I don't find a bumbling accountant trying to cover up his admiration of a female with accounting mumbo-jumbo funny. Incest isn't funny EVER, no matter if the people are only related through adoption. And Gene Hackman, who was very funny in Heartbreakers, was not funny pretending that he had 6 week, instant death cancer. Sorry if I don't have a stiff upper lip.
