Calliander, I disagree in your taste of movies.. but who doesn't disagree with my taste.. I loved Dude, Where's My Car? and own it on DVD.
I loved the Royal Tenenbaums. I was sober when I saw it and still found it hilarious. I found it far superior to Rushmore, a movie I am not particularly fond of due to numerous awkward moments that make me want to hit the main character.. similarly why I didn't like that movie about the kid who wants a BB gun for christmas ("You'll shoot your eye out") and is dressed in a bunny suit, although bunny suits are funny.
As far as the acting goes, the quite inverted emotion was very evident to me. That's how the Tenenbaums are, I found the acting very good. And who doesn't like Owen Wilson? He co-wrote the film too.
