Stuff and Things

I think it's time to recapture my "Most Hated Insult Poster" title once again...

Hey, congratulations to Lio Convoy on acquiring his new job! One interview and they realized that he was the man for their position and pretty soon he'll be flossin' heavy ice up in his grill, whippin' around in a chromed-out Benz with fly-ass ho's up on his dick all night. Yeah, bizz-h. Here's to you, dude, you supreme sugar daddy.

In other news, I think they need to have more fat people in those Apple ads. It's like, "Oh, I bought a digital camera and couldn't get the pictures off it on my PC. I hooked it up to my Mac and it was like, bam iPhoto opened up and boom the pictures were there. So I switched!" So obviously, the person in question didn't load the drivers for the digital camera on the PC. This means that they are too lazy to either download drivers or put the fucking CD that came with the goddamned camera into the PC and install it. Not only that, but they are also too lazy to open up the photo program and retrieve the images from the camera. No, these lazy bastards have to have it done for them automagically! And what are fat people, if nothing else? That's right, Lazy, with a capital L. Too lazy to lose that excess weight and too lazy to set up a digital camera on their PC. You fuckin' fat bastards. But here's the catch - only cameras currently in production will work with the Mac's "iPhoto". I used a camera that just came out in the past few weeks (about a half a month younger than Mac OS X 2.1, a Panasonic PV around 700 bucks, I forget the model number) and took some pictures and plugged it into one of those crappy snowdome flatpanel iMacs and... what do you know, no iPhoto, no "boom" and no plethora of images from said camera. Well, iPhoto has a setting you have to enable to make it automagically get your pictures so I thought that maybe the iMac in question had that option turned off (it's the default option, but you never know). Nope, iPhoto had it's automagic option enabled. It couldn't even retrieve the pictures from the camera manually. You know what the Apple Help for iPhoto then explained to me? Guess what, shithead, you've gotta download some drivers!

So, in conclusion, Macs are for fuckin' lazy fat bastards who want to have everything handed to them on a silver platter with some curly fries (gotta feed that insatiably fat stomach)! Apple should promptly fix their ad campaign and take those hideously ugly people and swap them out with some morbidly obese people. And shoot Steve Jobs. Fatass.

Idiots

They shouldn't let idiots use AIM. Better yet, they shouldn't have a warning feature. Assholes.

Windows

Windows has its ups and downs, and so does Linux. Personally, I despised KDE. It took up too much memory and ran too damn slow. Try Gnome instead, it pretty much looks the same as KDE but doesn't suck away your resources. I've been using Windows XP since I got my new Dell back in February, and I can't remember a single instance where it's crashed on me. Buggy, yes? Horrible, not really. We still use Windows 98 at work, and I'm ready to murder someone because of it. I've also had no problem with my Dell hard drives, so you either got a very defective one, or you spilled something in it and aren't telling us. :)

But anyway, are your drives separate, or was Windows physically on a different drive? Because if you're using a partition, I'm sure you know that you can mount your Windows drive in Linux and get your shit back.

It's amazing, it's actually better than IE. I never thought I'd be saying that...

Apple's Marketing Works!

Apple's marketing works. It works very well in fact. Almost too well.

It's not designed to attract the WORLD to their product. They know they can't convert the hardcore PC user (yet), and they're expensive. So, their ad campaign won't touch that fuzzy spot in you, Stone, but it might touch that spot for some of the jackasses of the world.. who will go out and buy a Mac.

I personally desire to own an Apple. I hate computers, but I need computers. I am about --> <-- this close to being able to dump Microsoft Windows totally, my laptop and workstation are both running Linux now. Thanks to OS X, Apple has been able to convert a former Apple hater into someone who just wants the fucking money to buy the damn thing. I used to despise Apple. Back when Calliander was still using his Performa, it was around the time where Apple was doing horribly financially and I was just waiting for the day for them to fall off the face of the earth and strand all the moron users they have.

Now, many years later, there are moron users everywhere.. using Linux even. There is no escape, so now who cares. Years ago, the majority of computer illiterate users would have been on a Mac.. now they're on PCs just because PCs are the cheap mainstream devices and Microsoft has done a good job of making the morons of the world believe Windows is easy too.

When it really comes down to it.. who gives a flying fuck. Use what you want. Choice is good.

There are certain things I love about the Apple's. There is OS X, which makes it something I can use for work. This OS also allows me to have a good browser (IE) and use a few key applications.. Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office. All running on a very stable G4 in a well designed case with specialized components for the model. PC users can hate Apple out of envy for not having a computer that can do such fancy things. The PC world is restricted to certain levels of backwards compatibility due to its design and OVER standardisation.

This all comes back to me disliking computers. An Apple workstation isn't really a computer too much, its just this thing that does what I need to get the job done, without the headaches or hassle of requiring TWO machines to do the same job, and not as well.

I may be in the process of changing my mind though. I almost have IE6 installed on my laptop (Linux + WINE), and I'll be installing Office tomorrow. But its still not the same because these things aren't running in their native environments, so they're slower and clunky and may not function 100% correctly.

Computers suck.

Heh heh, ain't that cute

I DECLARE A JYHAD ON ECLIPSE.NET!!!!

THESE MOTHERFUCKERS ARE BITING OUR RHYMES!!! PAPPY CAN'T YOU FUCKING DESTROY THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEMS OR FINANCIALLY CRIPPLE THEM SOMEHOW?

Blah blah

I was just recently trying to find information on some equipment. The question I had was a pretty basic question on the fundamental way the electronics work together. I have books, but it is too hard looking up something that you don't have a special name for. Anyway, the way I have been doing it for years is through the internet.. searching. It was much more convenient than the books, and effective.

Today, I got so many results from the past 7 years on a question that is very date dependent. There is no real way to search based on date..

The internet is starting to feel like a ghost town. There are tonnes and tonnes of sites out there, but they are all inactive.

So that is my geeky complaint. I hate inactive sites and 404s.
