I still say, combine classic Cap with the Tuskeegee Airmen story you describe, and you've got gold. I also think that Will Smith would be good if he was in the right role. Did you see I Am Legend? I thought that was pretty good. Neither the "grizzled old man Cap" character or the "super-upright by-the-book Cap" sound like the type of character that could drive a blockbuster, to me. The Cap/Tuskeegee Airmen thing sounds like something people would go see, even if it doesn't have a direct corollary in the books. (I looked at the Aint It Cool article and that Will Smith movie sounds good to me).
