I'm working on this project at work which requires me to be at work between 12pm and 2am one day this week. 14 hours of work. For that, I had today, and I have Wednesday off. That means that for three weeks in a row, I will have only worked 3 days each week - it's strange how much the time off throws me off of my game. I don't think I know what to do with this much time off. I don't have a whole lot of bullets in my magazine:
The Things Stone Knows How To Do:
- write political posts on messageboards
- go to Borders
- watch football/sitcoms
- go to an arcade and play Street Fighter
- eat
- drink
- read complicated poetry, which resembles exercise, since it's rewarding, but makes my head hurt
And that's it. Sad. I need a girlfriend.
I've been rethinking my (grudging?) support for Bush - the sheer venality of some of the stuff he's been doing: the energy bill, the choices he's been making in which programs to cut in order to reduce spending, which revolve mostly around cutting stuff like veterans' benefits, so on - he may inadvertently be supporting some of the interventionist stuff I believe in, but it all seems so blatantly opportunistic. However, the Democrats really don't seem to be doing anything to bring me back into the fold. People keep leaving the Democrats (or the Left) - Zell Miller, Breaux, some Texan Representative, Hitchens - and the response from a lot of people seems to be "good riddance". I don't get it - it's not as if the party can afford to discard moderates.
So, what's in the news today?
I'm getting a tax refund, I found out today, which is good.
