The thing about the English major is, you don't have to do any of the reading. If you go get a book of criticism, and read the criticism a day before you have to write the paper on the book, just to get yourself in the groove, you don't actually have to read the book. Other writers' essays lead you to some thesis, and you write your paper around the thesis, searching through the novel for information that supports the thesis.

And, if you don't have to do reading, English is about as non-time-consuming as a college major is going to get. Budget maybe a day and a half for each paper, and you've got all the work you're going to be doing that semester. It's pretty sweet, actually.

I have a job now, working with Calliander at the video store. It should be pretty good.
