LROD

Legend of the Red Dragon was fun - getting up and playing at 6:30AM so I could get my turn in before everyone else's.  Hippocampus and all that.

I completed the first class of my last semester today - 1 down, 4 to go.  Not bad at all.  Things are going well.

New Music

I have taken a liking to this band, some of you will hate this band, some will like it and some will be on the fence about it. The funny thing about this is i was asked to be in this band, and then told never mind we found someone else, but your at the top of our list if this kid dosent work out, nice but fuck man it sucks cus this is the exact kind of band id like to be in. anyways the name of the band is Treading Sorrows, kinda lame name but very Emo-core and thats what they are. emo-core scremo type of stuff anyways you can check out three tracks from them on www.mp3.com and i will put up a song for your convience.  https://insult.org/pics/Her_Hands_In_Mine.mp3   its not a far cry from what Lucy was trying to be i guess, if we had sonmeone who could you know sing. so check them out give it a listen and tell me what you all think good bad or indifferent. also tell me if you could see me in a band like this, i may get the chance, if we all pray that the other kid blows ass maybe ill get the gig :)

This is strange, Nirvana is cool again. its great and yet very odd, it seems like its too late, like theres no place for this music anymore. to me its great i still love Nirvana as much as i did when i was 12 but im 22 now im so much closer to where they were when they were really making this music. i feel like maybe now i have an even better undestanding of what was going on, im not just an angsty kid anymore now im an angsty adult, whos not mad at his dad for no reason anymore, so the music takes on new meanings, maybe these new meanings are there actual intentions? either way to revisit this part of my life is great, i love the "new" album i bought it today of course its a great collection of songs though i think they played a little heavy on the tracking from unplugged for there selection of songs, i like the "new" song "you know your right" i feel like if that was the direction that the band was headed in then not only was there next album going to be great it may have changed music again who knows. all of the songs have been remastered and some of them sound different then there original release so it is a new prespective on some old stuff which is cool. Cris Novoselics Bass sounds awesome over my two twelves in the trunk and Daves Bass drum hits hard, the music is alive and it feeds the fire in your soul in a whole new way, just like it did the first time. 948

Heres the thing

first off where did all the cool options go? i said they were lame i dident say i dident like having them....

anyways, calliander, for a man or woman who truely loves music, so much that it is there passion there life force if you will, there can be no greater moment in theyre lives then seeing theyre beloved music played live. to be at a concert to actually feel the music running through you as its being created, is one of the most euphoric feelings ever. i can really only compare the feeling to sex. weather its mozart at the piono (yes i know we can never truley experince him live but many a pianist can do more than justice to his music) or Dieing Fetus ripping your soul from its very being, music brings out the life inside you that maybe you dident know you had. when i saw Joe Morello, the man that had a hand in creating "Take 5" when i was 15 it changed my life forever. when i went to see Maceo Parker at Toads Place i left feeling not only like i had experienced a great great show, but that i was forever part of something more than just music, i was a part of life, love, and FUNK. A legend on stage no more than 20 feet from me, no words can really describe that feeling and do it justice. or take it to another level, when i go to see Candiria, and im jumping and stomping through the pit and im kicking and hitting kids and theyre kicking and hitting me, we are releasing something that the people on the outside dont understand we share a bond that only we could ever understand that to the outsider just looks like a bunch of kids beating the hell out of one another. or to Trey, having never seen Phish i cant say how awesome it would be but i can imagin, just seeing mike on stage for real with Trey at the Tweeter Center this year, absolutely amazing so much so that i wont even try to describe it because i couldnt ever write what that felt like. for me, and for alot of people like me there can be no price tag for these feelings, no matter how silly it may seem to anyone. SO i guess what im trying to say is that money for music, be it $7.00 for a local show at the Tune In or to see Phish at Madison Square Garden for $10,000.00, its all the same to me because its so deep inside me.

I'm so tired right now. Very, very tired. I haven't slept much during any of the past five or six nights, and, eh, it's strange. A few seconds ago I noticed that 10 minutes seemed to have just passed in the blink of an eye, without me noticing, and that my tie was then now wet for some reason.

I'm trying to figure out what the nicest bad/possibly insulting thing anyone's ever said to my face. Something where, even though whatever was said was a genuine criticism of a real negative characteristic, you're still kind of happy that you have that negative characteristic. Someone called me conniving in a poker game once, but I don't think that's got enough upside on the back end. There's probably a worst-nice-thing-anyone's-ever-said too, don't know about that.

I keep loading up Dictionary.com to make the time pass more quickly - it doesn't make the time pass more quickly. I think beige paint keeps me up.

My name is Mr. Maceo Parker..... GOODNIGHT!

whats it like to be less than 20 feet from a living breathing legend? its fucking awesome thats what its like. last night i saw one of the last great music men still kicking around. this is the man that invented soul, invented funk, the happiest man on the planet, Mr. Maceo Parker. i cant even put into words the feeling i got seeing this man peform live, this man has an aura around him, you know that he dosent just play some funk, he lives breaths eats and fucks funk. last night was one of the most moving musical experences of my life. once i calm down ill get more into detail.

from what i hear
